Trending Face Painting Designs for 2026

As we head into 2026, I'm seeing some exciting trends in face painting requests across St. Louis, St. Charles County, and Metro East Illinois. Here's what kids (and adults!) are asking for most:

Classic Designs That Never Go Out of Style

Some designs remain popular year after year. Butterflies, rainbows, and superhero masks continue to be top requests at parties in Clayton, Maryland Heights, and throughout the region. These timeless designs work for almost any age and party theme.

Character-Inspired Designs

Movie and TV characters always influence face painting trends. This year, I'm seeing lots of requests for designs inspired by popular animated films and superhero franchises. While I can't recreate exact copyrighted characters, I can create inspired designs that capture the essence kids love.

Galaxy and Space Themes

Cosmic designs with stars, planets, and nebula effects are huge right now! These work beautifully for both boys and girls and look stunning at evening events in Chesterfield and Ballwin. The blend of purples, blues, and sparkly accents creates a magical effect.

Floral and Nature Designs

Delicate flower crowns, vines, and nature-inspired designs are trending for spring and summer parties. These sophisticated designs are popular with tweens and teens at events in Edwardsville and throughout the Metro East area.

Glow-in-the-Dark Elements

UV-reactive face paint is becoming more popular for evening events, festivals, and glow parties. When the lights go down, these designs come alive! Perfect for teen parties and special events in the Greater St. Louis area.

Minimalist Designs

Not everyone wants a full-face design. Simple cheek art like hearts, stars, or small character elements are perfect for younger children or guests who want something subtle. These quick designs also help keep lines moving at larger events in Wentzville and Lake St Louis.

Custom Designs

More parents are requesting custom designs that match their party theme perfectly. Whether it's a specific color scheme for a corporate event or unique designs for a themed birthday party, custom work makes events extra special.
